"I completed H&R Block’s Income Tax Course in 2014 and have been working with the company ever since. It has been 11 years of growth and passion working with H&R Block in different capacities. Soon after completing the Income Tax Course, I started working as a Tax Consultant in Melbourne and remained in the same capacity until November 2015 when I was promoted to the position of District Manager in Canberra. I managed the retail business of H&R Block in Canberra until April 2018 and then moved to Adelaide to take up the role of District Manager.


The completion of the Income Tax course has been a great career breakthrough for me in Australia. Having migrated to the country in late 2013, the course provided me with an opportunity to enhance my skills in tax consulting and be part of the great culture that H&R Block has to offer. I already had an Advanced Diploma of Accounting and decided to do the course in 2008 after seeing an ad. I graduated and joined the team in July 2008 as an Office Manager for the Wollongong branch while also raising my two young boys, who were 11 and 9 years old at the time. I held this role for 13 years before taking the next step to become a District Coordinator in November 2020, a position I still hold. I am passionate about serving and helping clients, and now I want to help our staff deliver the best possible service we can provide at H&R Block.

I was always interested in taxation, but after newly arriving in Australia, I had little experience with the Australian taxation system. So, I decided to complete the Income Tax Course to bridge my knowledge of Australian rules and satisfy my infatuation with numbers! I completed the course in 2006. Afterward, I was offered a part-time role through H&R Block with the flexibility to raise my young child and work around my schedule. I'm a people person, so this job definitely ticked all the boxes! Fast forward to 2025, and it will be my 19th tax season at H&R Block. I am now training and running more than 18 branches across Sydney as part of my role as a District Manager.

I joined the course in February 2004, with no accounting experience other than self-taught accounts payable and receivable, along with payroll for a family business. I just had a 'thing' for numbers. My instructor was excellent, with her knowledge and easy way of explaining the tax rules in a simple way that made the jargon easier to understand. My career with H&R Block started in July 2004. Initially, I was just looking for casual work, but I became office manager in November 2004 and also took on the role of Instructor for the Income Tax Course in 2005. I worked in an office until 2011 before moving to the District Office, all the while passing on my knowledge and practical experience to others, even now as a District Manager.
