If you are filing your tax return at a participating H&R Block Australia office, you may be eligible for a Tax Refund Advance. Tax Refund Advance (TRA) allows eligible clients early access to 50% of their tax refund (capped at a maximum amount of $1,000), for a fixed 5% service fee. The use of TRA requires the use of our Fee-From-Refund service, which incurs an additional processing charge.
The TRA product is offered in partnership with Beforepay Finance Pty Ltd ACN 636 670 525. To be eligible for a TRA, clients must meet the eligibility and assessment criteria of both H&R Block and Beforepay.
Eligibility critera to qualify for an invitation to TRA with Beforepay (This will be checked by H&R Block during your appointment, prior to registration):
1. The minimum estimated refund from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) as calculated by H&R Block is $1,000.
2. You have no prior Fee-From-Refund or other Debts outstanding with H&R Block.
3. You have no outstanding debts with the ATO.
4. You have no prior garnishments of tax refunds by Centrelink, Child Support or Insolvency.
5. You have no outstanding tax returns from prior years.
6. You are an Australian resident and over 18 years of age.
By applying for a TRA, you acknowledge that H&R Block may receive a referral fee or other financial incentive for referring you to Beforepay.
H&R Block reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on the website immediately.
Once you receive your TRA invitation:
You will need to set up a Beforepay account, connect your bank and complete an ID Check to verify your eligibility, before you can Cash Out from Beforepay. New Beforepay customers are required to create a Beforepay account and successfully complete assessment and verification. You will be entering a separate agreement with Beforepay. Refer to the Beforepay website for their full terms of use and privacy policy. H&R Block may receive a fee share for referring you to Beforepay.
